Censor.NET reports citing Interior Minister Arsen Avakov's Facebook."Patrol police have been launched in Rivne! The reform is underway as planned! Rivne is the 22nd city where patrol police have assumed their duty. 193 patrol officers have sworn an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. From tonight, 20 patrol crews will protect the peace of the residents round the clock," the minister wrote.
"Serhii Merchuk, a participant of the Revolution of Dignity and police officer, has been appointed chief of the Rivne Patrol Police Department. In his 22, Serhii was on Maidan as part of the 35th hundred "Volynska Sich", then became a fighter of Azov special purpose regiment (callsign Zverobii), participated in the liberation of Mariupol, Pavlopil, Shyrokyne, Starobesheve," Avakov added.
National Police Chief Khatia Dekanoidze noted that police officers should make people feel safe like behind the rock. "Honesty, integrity and professionalism - this is what we demand, and the rest will come with time. In a while, police officers will be first to defend Ukraine," Khatia said, recalling that Georgia and Ukraine have a common enemy, Rivne Vichirne reports.
At the end of the ceremony, patrol officers commemorated victims of the war and Maidan.
