The farewell ceremony for the Ukrainian serviceman Volodymyr Samoilenko has been held at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv today, June 20.

Volodymyr Samoilenko is the hero of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) and one of the first volunteers who joined the ranks of the Aidar Battalion. The Ukrainian soldier died June 16 in a hospital, where he was treated for a long time as he had received two combat injuries.

The farewell ceremony for the hero was held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. Many of his fellows-in-arms attended. About a hundred people knelt as the coffin with the body of the Ukrainian soldier was brought.

Volodymyr Samoilenko will be buried at the Kyiv's Lisove Cemetery today.
