Monument to volunteer soldier unveiled in Kyiv. PHOTOS
A monument commemorating an anti-terrorist operation (ATO) volunteer soldier was inaugurated on Vladimir Mayakovsky Avenue in Kyiv on Sunday, July 10.
Verkhovna Rada Deputy, a member of Svoboda party Andrii Illienko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Kyiv's first monument to Ukrainian volunteer soldier has just been inaugurated in Troieshchyna [district of Kyiv - ed.]!" he wrote.
The monument features a soldier in an ammunition vest, armed with an assault rifle and carrying a helmet in his hand. The 205-centimeter monument is made of bronze.
As reported, the project was publicly discussed and supported by the residents of Desnianskyi district of Kyiv.
