Police guards all-Ukraine sacred procession in Poltava region. PHOTOS

During July, 12-22, a sacred procession with the participation of the clergy and parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is marching across the Poltava region.

The local traffic police are taking care of the safety of believers as they move across the streets and roads of the Poltava region, Censor.NET reports citing the National Police press service.

As previously reported, the so-called "sacred procession for peace" started in the east of the country from the Sviatohorsk Monastery on July 3, and in the west of the country from the Pochaiv Monastery on July 9. The participants in both processions will meet in Kyiv at St. Volodymyr Hill and walk together to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, where a ceremonial service will be held on July 27, the eve of the celebration of Christianization of Rus-Ukraine. According to eyewitnesses, the procession includes people wearing St. George ribbons and uniform without insignia.
