A serviceman of Russia's 201st military base in Kurgan-Tyube, Tajikistan has been murdered.
As reported by Censor.NET referring to Radio Ozodi quoting Russia's Central Military District press officer Yaroslav Roshchupkin, the soldier was killed in the early hours of July 31.According to preliminary investigation data, the homicide was committed on common grounds: "a quarrel occurred that entailed grave consequences."

The investigation is conducted by Tajik law enforcers and the command of the 201st base.

Asia-Plus news agency, citing a source in the law enforcement, said that the killed was a 40-year-old Sgt. Alexey Buyenkov.

An officer of Russia's 201st base in Kurgan-Tyube confirmed the report about the murder of a Russian serviceman. On condition of anonymity, he said the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday in Karina restaurant in the administrative center of the Khatlon region. According to him, a quarrel occurred between a Russian serviceman and local youth, leading to the death of the soldier.

According to the waiters of the restaurant, who witnessed the crime, the soldier was spending the evening with his wife and friends when a quarrel occurred between him and a young man named Ahliddin. According to them, the attacker used a knife as an instrument of crime. The eyewitnesses say they failed to get the motive behind the quarrel.
As Radio Ozodi also reports, quoting its sources, a resident of the city of Kurgan-Tyube, the Khatlon region has been detained as a subject in the case. The identity of the detainee has not been revealed so far.
