Turmoil outside trial of Tornado soldiers: activists attempted breakthrough into courtroom. PHOTOS+VIDEO

The Obolonskyi district court of Kyiv continued hearing the case of Tornado soldiers today, Aug. 9.

As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET, the participants of the rally held outside the court demanded public hearing.

The activists attempted to enter the courthouse in order to attend the hearing, but the law enforcement officers blocked their way.

MP Semen Semenchenko (right) failed to pass the cordon. He was able to enter the courthouse only when journalists began filming the clashes.

As reported, Tornado Special Forces Company was earlier a part of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. Eight Tornado soldiers, including its commander Ruslan Onyshchenko, were detained on charges of local residents' abduction, holding them in captivity, torture, murder, and a number of other serious crimes in June 2015. Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov signed the order disbanding Tornado Company July 18, 2015. The detachment has been liquidated, while its commander Ruslan Onyshchenko and several soldiers are being tried.
