On 25 August, Russian troops launched an attack on Konotop in the Sumy region. The attack damaged civilian facilities, railway infrastructure and a gas pipeline, and part of the city was left without a gas supply.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the mayor, Artem Semenikhin.

"In terms of casualties: a child, a 14-year-old girl, was injured. In terms of damage: another agricultural enterprise has been destroyed, and another part of the city is without gas. A residential building belonging to an ordinary family has been destroyed," the statement reads.

The Russian strike also destroyed a railway track and several Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.

Dozens of buildings and structures were damaged. These include private homes, commercial premises and administrative buildings.

Five people were injured as a result of Russian attacks in the Sumy region

In total, five people were injured as a result of Russian shelling in the Sumy region on 25 August, the police reported.

In the Seredyno-Budska community, two women – aged 71 and 62 – were injured as a result of an attack by a Russian drone. Another 75-year-old woman sustained injuries from mortar fire.

In the Sumy community, a 47-year-old man was injured following a strike by a Russian UAV. Medical staff diagnosed him with an acute stress reaction.

The Russian attacks caused damage to civilian infrastructure, private homes, vehicles, and commercial and administrative buildings.

A shop, a gas pipeline and industrial facilities were also damaged.
