Pessimism escalates in Ukrainian social media over Trump's triumph. PHOTOS

Ukrainian bloggers and politicians show little optimism when commenting on Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 8.

"We have another nuclear button in the hands of a fabulous, well, human being. This planet is getting quite uncomfortable," popular Ukrainian blogger Roman Shraik wrote.

"The country that survived Viktor Yanukovych will definitely survive Donald Trump," Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Mustafa Nayyem wrote and offered sharing Ukrainian experience.

People's Front MP Anton Herashchenko believes Trump's victory will not help Putin pursue his aggressive policy towards Ukraine.

"If Trump goes beyond the pale and breaks the law, he will face impeachment... Economic sanctions against Russia will be maintained," he remarked.

Well-known civil volunteer Vitalii Deineha notes America will now definitely deny any help to the Ukrainian army.

Even before the announcement of the election results, people's deputy Volodymyr Ariev stressed that Ukrainians should rely primarily on themselves.

Former Odesa governor Mikheil Saakashvili notes that he predicted Trump's victory in his book 4 months ago.

"We are entering a very dangerous period, and unfortunately, our government is completely unprepared," Saakashvili observed.
