Christmas tree unveiled in downtown Kyiv. VIDEO+PHOTOS

Kyiv City State Administration officials conducted an opening ceremony of the New Year's and Christmas tree at Kyiv’s St. Sofia Square.

A correspondent for Censor.NET reports from the scene.

The tree was brought to Kyiv from the Ivano-Frankivsk region on Dec. 3. It reaches nearly 26 meters.

The Christmas tree is decorated with more than 1,000 wooden toys made by craftsmen from Yavoriv, the Lviv region. It is also decorated with a 3-kilometer long Christmas-tree set consisting of 42,000 lanterns.
