Five people injured as gas cylinder explodes in Kharkiv region. PHOTOS
The explosion in a five-floor house was reportedly caused by repairing activities in one of the apartments.
The accident occurred in an apartment in a five-floor building in the village of Slobozhanske, the Kharkiv region. A gas cylinder that is used to mount a stretched ceiling has detonated, Censor.NET reports citing State Emergency Service.The windows on the third, fourth and fifth floors were blown out. No structural failures reported.
A 24-year-old woman was thrown out of the fifth floor balcony due to the blast. She suffered second and third degree burns. 50 percent of her body is burnt. She also got cut wounds of a right shin and a nose fracture. The woman was taken to Kharkiv hospital.
Another four people got serious burns: a 24-year-old husband of the woman, his 44-year-old father, and two workers who were mounting the ceiling in the apartment. All of them have been taken to the hospital.
