The police prevented the suicide of two teenage girls involved in a deadly game spreading via social networks.

This was announced by the head of Kyiv National Police department Andrii Kryshchenko on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The 'Blue Whale' [a game spread via social media among teenagers demanding them to commit suicide - ed.] is in Kyiv. Two girls left home after they got an assignment in the "group of death": to jump from a high-rise,'' he wrote.

''Fortunately, we have quickly found one girl. More than 200 police officers were involved in the search of another. She was found a few hours later on the 16th floor of the house with signs of hypothermia. There were figures, symbols and words carved on her hands and feet... She was saved and handed over to doctors and parents. The police psychologists work with her," Kryshchenko reported.

The first messages about the so-called ''groups of death'' appeared in the Russian ''Novaya Gazeta" a while ago. The journalists claimed there is a suicide quest popular among teenagers. Children join social network groups such as ''The Sea of Whales'' and receive assignments to commit a suicide.
