Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii is paying an official visit to Japan. He has already visited Yokosuka Naval Base and discussed military cooperation with the commandant of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
As reported by Censor.NET, the official wrote on Facebook."I started my working visit to Japan. On the first day, I have visited the naval base in the city of Yokosuka and Teruzuki ship at the invitation of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Command," Parubii wrote.
"Although Japan is far from Ukraine, we have a lot in common, including a common adversary - the global threat Putin's Russia poses to the free world.
"We have discussed military cooperation with Commandant of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Vice Admiral Kazuki Yamashita on board JS Teruzuki. The skills gained by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the hybrid war waged by the Russian imperialists are critical for our Japanese allies.
"I am convinced that the experience sharing and cooperation between JMSDF and Ukraine's Naval Forces will be expanded soon.
"After a tour on Teruzuki warship, the Japanese colleagues showed us around Mikasa ship preserved as a museum. The legendary Mikasa battleship served as the flagship for the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1904-1905, when Japanese samurai crashed the Russian imperial fleet," he wrote.
