Explosives experts examined the car and seized an attached hand grenade.

A 47-year-old Kyiv resident called the police and reported on a suspicious object tied to the exhaust pipe of a Volkswagen Touareg car.

The man runs a business in Kyiv. He came to visit his sister in Starokostiantyniv for Easter.

As he parked his car he noticed a suspicious object attached to the bottom of the vehicle. It was fixed with a rope, a scotch tape, plastic clamps, and resembled a munition.

An investigative team and explosive technical experts arrived to the scene immediately. They examined the vehicle and seized a metal object resembling a manual grenade RGD-5. The item has been sent for further investigation.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under article 115 (murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
