Deputy mayor of Vyshhorod caught drug dealing, - SBU. PHOTOS

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed deputy mayor of Vyshhorod, the Kyiv region, of illegal storage and dealing of drugs. The official is also suspected of state funds embezzlement.

This was announced by the SBU press service, Censor.NET reports.

SBU investigators found that the official, in collision with employees of the city council, was involved in illegal appropriation of budget funds allocated for renovations in residential houses of the city.

The law enforcers have documented that the officials put overstated volumes and costs of repair works in 2016-2017. Some of the funds were transferred to accounts of fake companies and embezzled by the lawbreakers.

Police, SBU and Prosecutor General's Office initiated a criminal investigation into the case and conducted raids in the offices and homes of the suspects.

Documents and electronic media relating to the case were seized, as well as drugs.

The official has been indicted under articles 307 and 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
