In memory of one of best operators of Stuhna ATGM, Heorhii Korop, call sign Advocate
On July 21, a prominent Ukrainian soldier, my good friend, one of the best operators of the Stuhna ATGM, Heorhii Korop, call sign Advocate, was tragically killed while performing his official missions.
As early as June 2022, he had up to 40 units of Russian armored vehicles on his personal account, and it was he who destroyed the Russian TOS-1A flamethrower system "Sontsepok" in March 22, which is displayed at trophy parades on Khreshchatyk.
Many of his videos have become news hits, and here is his famous work - four tanks in three minutes - and his voice.
We met on the night of April 27, 2022, in the semi-encircled village of Virnopillia, at the stronghold of the Carpathian Sich volunteer unit, and within ten minutes he took me on a combat mission to detect and destroy Russian tanks that were controlling the approaches to the village from a height. The Russians were using tank optics for observation to spot and hit them, and we had only one risky position - a broken down farm building two kilometers from the Russian tanks, which was in plain sight for the Russians. But it was the best position, and Heorhii took the risk to take it.
He surveilled us for five hours and detected two Russian tanks right in front of us, which were well camouflaged. Their barrels were pointing directly at us because our farm was the only building on that side of the hill. If they had noticed anything, there would have been no chance of getting out of there during the day. But Advocate instantly set up a launcher and destroyed both tanks. He cleared all the heights around Virnopillia from the Russian armored vehicles of the Kantemyr Division. The Carpathian Sich commander Oleh Kutsyn was very fond of him - I once filmed Kutsyn scandalously taking missiles from another crew who were afraid to leave the basement and giving them to Advocate.
I filmed how Heorhii was fighting the enemy near Bilohorivka. On June 22, his car was ambushed, he was seriously injured in the arm, was treated for a long time, and then returned to the front.
I did an interview with him, which he kept wanting to add to and correct, about his exploits. Now I will finish the editing without him.
He was a lawyer by profession and was fond of parachuting. He went to war in 2014 and served his contract in the infantry. A couple of months before the invasion in 2022, as a volunteer fighter, he mastered the Stuhna at the Luch Design Bureau in a group created by O. Korostelov, S. Pashynskyi, and T. Chornovol, and on February 24, he took a missile launcher from an Arab order that was secretly taken out of the factory the day before the Russian missile strike. At the beginning of the war, neither Korop nor his launcher were registered anywhere. In order to strike the enemy, he did not need documents.
He fought with enthusiasm. The director of Luch, Korostelev, was very fond of him and consulted with him on all aspects of the Stuhna's modernization.
Korop with the gun crew joined the anti-tank battle group of a commander with the call sign Diver, and with this experienced commander he acted as efficiently as possible.
The lawyer was distinguished by his initiative - Diver set the task, plan and nature of actions in detail, and Korop never sat still and waited for the enemy to come to him. He always searched for the enemy despite the risk, went to zero line, and constantly used the Stuhna camera as an optical reconnaissance system, carefully observed and studied the area. He carefully calculated heights, observation and shooting angles, approach and projection routes, camouflage factors, and had no fear after making his decisions. Heorhii recorded most of his accurate shots on video. But he was a very modest person and did not want to be famous. He gave me an interview after a year of my persuasion.
Heorhii loved his wife, his son and his daughter very much. His wife's name is Silva, and Silva was the name of his rocket launcher.

It was people like you who created the advantage of our army and defeated the professional Russian invasion army, destroyed the best Russian tank units. We will do everything we can to keep your memory alive, so that your family will not be forgotten.
