Over 100 Russian missiles and drones were shot down by NASAMS air defense system in five months of operation. VIDEO
NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems will protect Ukrainian skies from November 2022.
This was reported in the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET informs.
"NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, which were handed over to Ukraine by Western partners, shot down more than 100 Russian missiles and drones in five months of combat work," the Air Force reported.
The first NASAMS began to be used to protect the airspace of Ukraine in November 2022. As noted by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk, the brigade armed with NASAMS will in the long run completely abandon the old equipment and switch exclusively to Western air defense systems.
"In the future, I see that we will abandon the use of anti-aircraft missile systems of the old fleet in this brigade. I think that in the near future the anti-aircraft missile brigade will be armed with all the latest systems that will be in Ukraine," he said.
