A huge plume of orange smoke is rising over the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. The company’s management reports that there was an "emergency situation with a short-term release of a suspension of dusty air".

The video of the fire was posted on social media, Censor.NET reports.

Residents of the city complain of a heavy and unpleasant smell in the vicinity of the production facility.

The plant's press service was quick to reassure the outraged citizens that it was an emergency. They say the orange colour of the smoke is due to the presence of iron oxide. However, they did not explain how harmful this smoke is.
