Ukrainian Navy ships Cherkasy and Chernihiv receive interoperability assessment according to NATO standards. VIDEO
Ukrainian mine countermeasures ships were the first to receive a NATO interoperability assessment since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy, Censor.NET reports.
"The Cherkasy and Chernihiv mine countermeasures ships are the first to complete a NATO Level 1 assessment since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression, which confirms their compatibility with NATO procedures and standards. In the current security environment, this is an important process of integrating Ukrainian units into NATO standards, which ensures a high level of training and efficiency," the statement said.
They noted that one of the main mechanisms for such a partnership is the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept Verification and Feedback Programme.
"Its main task is to assess in practice the level of readiness of partner countries' armed forces units to participate jointly with NATO forces in NATO operations.
Participation in this program contributes to improving the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their integration into NATO's collective security system," the Navy added.
