Owner of ill-famed Elita-Centr [construction project whose owners allegedly stole money from its investors - ed.] Oleksandr Shakhov (Volkonskyi) has escaped from house arrest.
As reported by Censor.NET citing TSN, Shakhov did not show up at a regular court hearing. In the apartment where the defendant was held under house arrest, only his electronic bracelet has been found.The judge in the case has compelled the court to find Shakhov (Volkonskyi) and bring him to court.
As reported by Prosecutor General's Office, Shakhov (Volkonskyi) organized an investment project for alleged construction of residential houses in Kyiv. The money received from 1,693 investors, in amount of 383 million hryvnia ($15.32 million) has been embezzled by the defendant and his companions.
