Man whose arrest was filmed by Swedish journalists in Kyiv had breached mobilisation law, - police. VIDEO

The capital’s police have commented on the arrest of a man, which was accidentally filmed by foreign journalists in Kyiv.

Details

"Whilst carrying out public awareness campaigns, a joint team from the Pechersk Police Department and the Pechersk District Military Registration and Enlistment Office was checking the documents of conscripts in the city centre," law enforcement officials explained.

However, during the check, the man attempted to flee, so he was detained and taken to the district Military Registration and Enlistment Office.

Following his detention, law enforcement officers informed the man that he was wanted for "breaching mobilisation legislation". Furthermore, according to the police, the man had not previously been registered for military service at all. 

An administrative report was drawn up in relation to this incident under Article 210 of the Code of Administrative Offences.
