There is risk that attempts will be made to quell this war at expense of our independence, but we are countering this, - Zelenskyy. VIDEO

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised that Ukrainians will not allow themselves to be used as a ‘bargaining chip’ in international agreements and will not give up their aspiration to live independently.

"A fact proven by the strength and resilience of our people in a full-scale war. Ukrainians will not be paving stones under the feet of tsars and leaders. Ukrainians will not be a bargaining chip in the disputes of capitals. Ukrainians will not submit to what they do not believe in, and they will certainly not abandon their dream – the dream of living independently," the head of state emphasised.

Zelenskyy reminded his audience that the future of not only Ukraine but also Europe is being decided in the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.

At the same time, he noted that there is a risk that "they will try to quell this war at the expense of our Ukrainian independence and the lives of our people".

"We are not facing this risk alone; we are not strengthening our people’s resolve alone, and we believe that, together with our friends and partners, we will certainly succeed in achieving a dignified peace for our country. No nation would be able to rely solely on its own weapons in such a war. No nation could have withstood such powerful blows without the help of the world," the President added.
