A video has been published online showing the emergency landing of a Russian Mi-8 military transport helicopter on the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk–Dolinsk road on Sakhalin Island (the Russian Federation).

According to Censor.NET, dashcam footage captures the moment when the Mi-8 transport helicopter’s rotor blades ‘mow down’ the roadside tree line and eventually plunge nose-first into a ditch. Car drivers, seeing the helicopter flying at an "extremely low" altitude, prudently began to pull their cars over to the opposite verge.
