Negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to EU may begin soon, - German Minister for Europe and Climate Luhrmann
Ukraine has made great progress in carrying out the reforms necessary for joining the European Union, so negotiations on this issue can begin in the near future.
As reported by Censor.NET with reference to Suspilne, this was stated by the Minister of State for Climate and Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Anna Luhrmann.
"The prospects for Ukraine's accession are gaining momentum. It is quite possible that negotiations will begin soon. The pace will depend, first of all, on Ukraine's readiness for reforms," Luhrman explained.
She noted that during her visit to Kyiv, she was impressed by the progress that had been achieved, so now it is important that Ukraine preserve "this reforming momentum."
In the context of the visit to the Ukrainian capital, the minister also mentioned that it is very difficult for people there without heating and electricity, and Germany, in particular in cooperation with France, should organize winter aid for Ukraine.
Luhrmann added that the EU should supply Ukraine with more weapons in order to make Ukraine's defense performance "even better."
