U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin believes that the Ukrainian armed forces are ready for combat operations in the winter and have all the necessary means to succeed.

"I think Ukrainian forces are ready for combat in the winter, and of course they did a great job last year," Austin said at a briefing in Kyiv.
The head of the Pentagon added that the latest $100 million military aid package, in particular, includes winter equipment.
"So yes, they have all the means they're going to need to succeed in fighting in the winter. And I think, I agree with President Zelenskyy, that the right decision is to continue to press, to fight the enemy," Austin said.
