U.S. State Department: Actions Against Vlasenko Are Politically Motivated

Radio Liberty reports that the U.S. State Department said in a statement that the measures being taken to take away Vlasenko's mandate "are politically motivated because of his connection with Yulia Tymoshenko."

The State Department also mentioned Pavlo Baloha and Oleksandr Dombrovskyy whose mandates were taken away by the court in February.

U.S. urged Kyiv to "respect the will of the Ukrainian voters expressed in October 2012 in the parliamentary elections," and end "politically motivated harassment of opposition leaders and comply with international obligations regarding the rule of the law and democracy."
