Russian Defense Ministry Threatens United States with Preventive Nuclear Strike: "Our Main Enemies are US and NATO"

The conditions of the pre-emptive nuclear attack on the United States may be introduced into the new version of Russia's military doctrine.

Russian Defense Ministry Inspector General Department coordinator General Yurii Yakubov stated this to "Interfax", Censor.NET reports.

He claimed that the main enemy of the country should be defined in the new doctrine.

"This strategic document for the country should in the first place clearly identify the potential enemy of Russia, which the military doctrine of 2010 missed. Our main opponents are the United States and is Atlantic Alliance in my point of view," the General said.

He reminded that just a few years ago the United States and NATO at all levels claimed that the North Atlantic Alliance and the West are not foes of Russia.

But now, according to the General, "There is actual information campaign being conducted against Russia. The image of the West's enemy is being deliberately made of our nation, with far-reaching designs."

Yakubov called to "work out the forms and methods of air and space defense functioning in close cooperation with strategic nuclear deterrence forces."

"It is necessary to study the conditions under which Russia could apply preventive strike using the Russian strategic nuclear forces," - said the general.
