Ukraine’s Defense Ministry lambasted the article by Glen Grant on the current condition of the Ukrainian army.

"Glen Grant, who earlier offered his expertise to Ukraine's Defense Ministry, wrote an article about the actual condition of the Ukrainian army from the perspective of a British army colonel. Being comprehensive and veracious, it caused a major stir. The Defense Ministry responded in quite a weird way: it lambasted not Grant's statements, but personally the author," Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on social media.

"During his stay in Ukraine, Glen Grant had no sufficient time and opportunity to be able to get an insight into the reform of the Ukrainian army and take part in this process. Therefore, the information set out in his article is just his personal assumptions and inferences that were not based on reasonable grounds," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"What information was biased in particular? Please, give a quote. It turns out that something was wrong with his status! They say he has never been an adviser to Ukraine's Defense Ministry, but just an associate. This actually has nothing to do with the conclusions he reached," Butusov said.

"The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Army General Stepan Poltorak held a working meeting with the members of the Reforms Project Office under Ukraine's Defense Ministry and Mr. Glen Grant, the head of the project on reforming the system of providing the military personnel with housing. Further steps and objectives of the project aimed at reforming the system addressing the housing needs of servicemen were discussed at the meeting. Ukraine thanked the British government, personally Mr. Grant, and concerned Ukrainians engaged in the project," says another statement by the Defense Ministry regarding Mr. Grant"s efforts.

"Unfortunately, the Defense Ministry ignored the housing project proposed by the British government, which was developed by Mr. Grant and the team of Ukrainian experts," the journalist said.
