Investors expect Ukraine to persist with reforms,- Poroshenko

Poroshenko argues that Ukraine attracts investors and could offer much in agroindustrial complex, IT industry, engineering and logistics.

Poroshenko spoke at Ukraine TV channel after his visit to Davos Economic Forum, Censor.NET reports citing the president’s press service.

"What do they (investors - ed.) expect from Ukraine today? This is the right question to ask. They expect the impossibility of revanche. They expect the achievements in the investment climate improvement, which allowed us to move from 153 and 112 to 71 position (in Doing business rating - ed.), to be preserved. So that there would no backsliding in the reforms, no revanche. That is what they are waiting for. And, of course, we will do everything we can to protect Ukrainian business, to continue the creation of independent courts, to continue the creation of an independent anticorruption infrastructure," Poroshenko emphasized.

The president also mentioned that on Jan. 23, at the National Investment Council meeting, the creation of the investment fund of 200 million dollars for Ukraine was announced. The money will be invested into small and medium-sized businesses. Also, an agreement on renewable energy has been made.

"This was done to strengthen the energy independence of our state," the president added.

The president was on visit to Davos on Jan. 23-24.
