Documentary about Ukrainian political prisoners of Kremlin showed at EP. VIDEO&PHOTOS
March 19, a documentary dubbed Putin's hostages: Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin was shown in the session hall of the European Parliament.
Censor.NET reports citing Ukraine's delegation in the EU.
Opening the event, Head of Ukraine’s Mission to the EU Mykola Tochytskyi underscored: we have more than 70 political prisoners, 24 captured Ukrainian sailors, large-scale repressions in occupied Crimea and Kremlin’s ongoing political persecutions against Ukrainian citizens. We urge our partners to step up political pressure and expand sanctions in order to release illegally imprisoned Ukrainian citizens and stop Russian aggression.
The screening of the documentary was followed by a discussion with human rights activists Alya Shandra and Maria Tomak, Ihor Hryb (father of political prisoner Pavlo Hryb) and Viktor Soroka (father of Ukrainian Navy sailor POW Vasyl Soroka).
