"Green" energy helps to get out of blackout situation, - Shmyhal
"Green" energy can provide certain needs for electricity around it even during a blackout situation in Ukraine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated this in an interview.
"During a blackout, they can work in "islands", and we take electricity from individual islands and start to "knit" into a single system," Shmyhal said.
We will remind, the chairman of the board of "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytsky believes that wind generation, which has a great potential especially in winter, can improve the energy supply of Ukraine during a power shortage in the power system.
According to the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, energy companies can complete 300 to 500 MW of "green" energy capacity in the coming months, if the state provides them with an extension of the guaranteed support conditions for 1-2 years, so that the companies have time to complete their facilities.
Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that Ukraine can become a "green energy hub" for Europe and increase electricity exports to the EU to replace "dirty" Russian energy resources.
