Situation at front has reached impasse, - Budanov

The hostilities in Ukraine are currently at a standstill, as neither Ukraine nor Russia can make significant progress.
This was reported by the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the BBC, Censor.NET reports.
"The situation is just frozen. It is not moving.
"We cannot defeat them in all directions comprehensively. Just like they can defeat us.
"We are very much looking forward to new deliveries of weapons and the arrival of more advanced weapons," he said.
After Ukrainian forces liberated Kherson in November, most of the fiercest fighting continued around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Elsewhere, Russian troops appear to be on the defensive, while the winter has slowed the pace of ground operations of the Armed Forces along the entire 1,000 km front line.
Budanov said that Russia is "now completely at a standstill", suffering very significant losses, and he believes that the Kremlin has decided to announce another mobilization. But, he added, Ukrainian forces still lack the resources to move forward in many directions.
At the same time, Budanov denied the possibility of an offensive by Belarus.
"As of today, I do not see any signs of preparations for an invasion of Kyiv or the northern regions on the part of Belarus," said the head of Ukrainian intelligence.
