On January 3, 2023, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 (on the Richter scale) was registered on the territory of Zakarpattia region in the area of the city of Irshava, at a depth of 6 km.

It is noted that the most powerful earthquakes from the territory of Zakarpattia region were registered on January 23, 2020 and October 27, 2021 with magnitudes of 3.0 and 3.1, respectively.
