Russia has created world’s largest minefield in Ukraine - Shmyhal

Since the beginning of the war, Russia has "built" the world’s largest minefield in Ukraine. Its area exceeds the area of the territory of Great Britain.

RBC-Ukraine writes about this with reference to the words of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in an interview for Yonhap.

As Shmyhal noted, he is counting on South Korea's help in demining the territory of Ukraine thanks to its experience, skills, and equipment. According to the Prime Minister, Russia has built a minefield in Ukraine with an area of 250,000 square kilometers.

"Today, this is the largest minefield in the world. It not only complicates the movement of people, but also causes serious disruptions in agriculture, which is one of our main industries," the prime minister explained.

At the same time, even without taking into account the mines, it is the civilian areas that suffer the most from the war, since the Russians are ineffectively targeting the infrastructure in densely populated areas of Ukraine. Shmyhal added that 70% of the damage occurred in residential areas.
