US Embassy in Moscow urged Americans to leave Russian Federation
The American Embassy advises US citizens not to visit Russia, and those who are in its territory to leave immediately.
A corresponding warning was published on the website of the embassy, Censor.NET reports.
"Do not visit Russia due to the unforeseeable consequences of an unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, the potential for harassment and selection of US citizens for detention by Russian security officials, arbitrary application of local laws, restricted flights to and from Russia, the limited ability of the Embassy to assist US citizens in Russia and the possibility of terrorism," the message reads.
The diplomats noted that it will be problematic for them to assist their compatriots under the conditions under which embassies are forced to work on the territory of the Russian Federation. And they added that "US citizens living in or traveling to Russia should immediately leave this country.
The embassy also reminded that American bank cards no longer work in Russia, opportunities to use commercial flights are limited. So the Americans should leave the Russian Federation on their own as soon as possible.
This is not the first such call from the United States Embassy. Diplomats made the same appeal at the beginning of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and in September 2022, when mobilization was carried out in Russia.
