Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine on the supply of F-16 fighter jets continue.

This was stated by US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Gordon.

"We are working very closely with Ukraine to determine what their needs are and when they need to meet them. And we also need to make sure that they have the skills and the capability to use any weapons systems that we give them," she said.

Thomas-Greenfield noted that the transfer of F-16s is out of the question, as Ukraine will not be able to maintain them. This is how she answered the host's question about whether a decision has been made to send these fighters to Ukraine.

"It will not help them if we deliver any systems that they cannot use. The discussions will continue over the next few weeks or months," the Permanent Representative said.

Thomas-Greenfield emphasized that the United States will support Ukraine for as long as it is needed.
