Berlin hampers sanctions against Russian oligarchs, Reuters

Germany is making slow progress on sanctions against Russian oligarchs and institutions. In half a year, the amount of frozen assets increased by 1 billion euros
This is reported by Reuters, Censor.NET reports with reference to LigaBusinessInform.
After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Germany froze about 5.25 billion euros in assets belonging to oligarchs under sanctions, according to the German finance ministry. Six months ago, this figure was 4.28 billion euros.
The ministry shared this information in response to a request from Christian Gerke, a member of the German parliament.
"Since December, only 200 million euros in the assets of oligarchs have been frozen, and in half a year - only one billion. Not a single oligarch has reported his assets since December," Gerke said.
According to Germany's sanctions law, individuals subject to EU sanctions must immediately declare their assets under the threat of a fine or up to a year in prison.
According to the government, eight oligarchs have so far reported 31 asset positions to the Bundesbank. The cost is about 577 million euros. It is divided between account balances, company assets and securities.
