International center for investigation of Russian crimes will start working in summer - Kostin

The attorneys general of the countries that are members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) have signed an agreement to establish an International Center for the Investigation of Crimes of Russian Aggression in The Hague, which will start operating in the summer of 2023.
The document was signed after a coordination meeting of JIT prosecutors held during the international conference "United for Victory" in Lviv, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrinform.
"Today we have signed an additional agreement to the agreement on the Joint Investigation Team, which provides for the establishment of an International Center for Investigation of Crimes of Russian Aggression against Ukraine in The Hague on the basis of Eurojust," said Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
According to Kostin, it is expected that prosecutors will work in this center to collect evidence of crimes of aggression.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is also going to share with the prosecutors of the center in The Hague the evidence of crimes of aggression that has already been accumulated in the department.
It is tentatively planned that the center will start operating in July this year.
The Prosecutor General added that the work of this International Center will be the first step towards the establishment of a Special Tribunal to condemn the crime of aggression of the Russian political and military leadership against Ukraine.
