UN declared crimes against humanity in Belarus

A deliberate campaign of violence and repression against those in opposition to the government was conducted in Belarus.
As Censor.NET informs, DW writes about it.
Crimes against humanity are committed on the territory of Belarus. It is about torture, murder, sexual violence, gender-based violence and violation of human rights to freedom of expression. This was the conclusion reached by UN experts on Friday, March 17.
In particular, as stated by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, a deliberate campaign of violence and repression is being conducted in Belarus against those who were in opposition to the current government, criticized it or were suspected of being disloyal to the current regime.
Turk emphasized that the regime's impunity flourishes in this country, and civil society, freedom of expression, and an alternative position are almost completely destroyed.
It is noted that the experts made their conclusions on the basis of interviews with 207 victims of the Lukashenko regime, on the testimony of witnesses of repressions, as well as on the basis of photos, videos, medical, and forensic examinations.
The situation in Belarus was studied from May 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022.
