Poland to build military base near its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad region
Poland has announced to build a military base in town of Olecko, which is located near its border with Kaliningrad region of Russia.
This was announced by the Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to NV.
"A military unit will be established in Olecko by the end of this year. A military unit there (in Olecko - ed.) means security for the residents of the town and for the entire province... A military unit is always a benefit for the local community," the minister said.
The construction of the military base will begin in April this year. It is planned to be built quickly.
Blaszczak added that the personnel who will be stationed on the territory of the military garrison will be part of the First Artillery Brigade of Warmia.
