Dudin, former head of SSU of Kharkiv region, faces life sentence for treason, - SBI
The employees of the SBI have completed the pre-trial investigation of Roman Dudin, the former head of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

The former head of the Kharkiv SBU is suspected of treason and committing criminal offenses against the established order of military service. He faces life imprisonment. After familiarization by the defense side, the case will be transferred to the court.
"It was established that on the eve of February 24, 2022, the exhibitor knew about the high probability of a full-scale attack on the territory of Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. But instead of organizing work to counter the enemy, he actually engaged in sabotage.
Believing that the offensive will be successful and hoping that it will be taken into account by the occupying authorities of the Russian Federation, the head of the special service of the border region engaged in subversive activities against Ukraine, which caused damage to the defense capability and state security," the message reads.
In particular, he organized an attempt to remove the Chairman of the Kharkiv RMA from fulfilling the duties assigned to him. The purpose of this act was to prevent the head of the RMA from implementing the necessary measures of the legal regime of martial law and trying to seize state power in the region.
He also discredited the current authorities of Kharkiv and the region through the media, providing false information. He also tried to paralyze the security agencies of the region - for this, he prevented the functioning of the unified system of management of the security and defense forces of the region.
It is also added that, in addition, he deliberately did not ensure the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the SSU in the Kharkiv region and, in the absence of any legal grounds, ordered the personnel of the SSU in the Kharkiv region to leave the administrative premises of the SSU and the territory of Kharkiv.
It is also reported that he deliberately created the conditions for handing over to the enemy the weapons, military supplies, military supplies, and personal protective equipment of servicemen stored in the administrative building of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
The former head of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region is suspected of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Art. 111 (treason), Part 5 of Art. 407 (voluntarily leaving a military unit or place of service), Part 4 of Art. 402 (disobedience) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
He faces life imprisonment. After familiarization by the defense side, the case will be transferred to the court.
