Over last day, 124 occupants were eliminated near Bakhmut, - Eastern troop grouping of AFU
The city of Bakhmut and its surroundings remain the main focus of the occupiers’ attacks in the Eastern Operational Zone, where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Eastern troop grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty, іnforms Censor.NЕТ with reference to Іnterfax-Ukraine.
"Over the last day, the enemy fired 163 times in the area of Bakhmut itself, near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske, using various types of cannon and rocket artillery, 19 firefights and three air strikes took place. In the area of Bakhmut itself, there were 30 attacks and 17 combat engagements," said Cherevaty.
He informed that 124 militants were killed in the area over the last day, 149 more sustained injuries of varying severity.
At the same time, the spokesman for the Eastern troop grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commenting on the recent statement of the country's military leadership on stabilizing the situation in Bakhmut, noted that Ukrainian defenders know the enemy's intentions, know their strength and means, and therefore build defense lines in time.
"We are building the right defense and launching preventive strikes against the enemy with our missile forces and artillery. We know where they are focusing their main efforts, and we are buying them off. And most importantly, for almost nine months now, we have been preventing the enemy from breaking through Bakhmut as it planned and systematically breaking through our defense to move on to fulfill its main operational task at this time - the full occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," explained Cherevaty.
