Currently, draft law 7588 has been sent for a repeated second reading.

Vitalii Shabunin, head of the ACC, announced this on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The Verkhovna Rada failed the second reading of draft law 7588, which allows to stop the deriban of agricultural lands of state-owned enterprises. But the deputies still have a chance to correct themselves. 121 People's Deputies, present in the hall, simply abstained or did not vote at all for this draft law, which actually supported the continuation of the land schemes," the message says.

"To understand the problem, there are 728,000 hectares of such land in Ukraine. About half of it belongs to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. And it should be used for the purposes of science and innovation. But Google will not tell you about the successes of the National Academy in these "innovations". Instead, there is a lot of news about the corrupt practices of its leadership with the land," added Shabunin.

The head of the Central Committee reminded that last August NACB exposed one of the heads of the state-owned enterprise from the National Academy system for embezzling land worth UAH 11.6 million. In 2019, "Schem" journalists filmed an investigation into how the leadership of the National Academy obtains state land for themselves and their relatives.

"Returning to the draft law. Its purpose is to cover up these gray schemes. And to allow state land to be leased through Prozorro. Sales. So the state will profit from this, not schemers from the National Academy. And you and I will be able to control who and how uses our land
People's deputies will get a chance to correct themselves very soon. Because draft law 7588 was sent for a repeated second reading," concluded Shabunin.
