The Ministry of Defense asks citizens not to report the death of servicemen before it has been officially confirmed.

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.

"Relatives should not find out about the death of a serviceman from the Internet. The Armed Forces have a procedure for notifying relatives about the death of a serviceman

The TCP SS has the right to report this information. Not commanders, not comrades, not official pages of brigades, etc. Employees of TCP SS have experience and are specially trained in such communications.

If the body is not found, then the family is notified that the service member is missing under certain circumstances. Such a serviceman will be recorded as "missing". But when the body is found and identified, then the death is reported," she said.

According to Malyar, there was already a case when witnesses saw death, but the body was not found. Later, the serviceman turned out to be alive.

"Therefore, a request to everyone: in public communications about the death, out of respect for relatives, follow simple rules:

- to notify publicly after the TCC SP informs the relatives about the death or disappearance
- report the status correctly - "dead" or "missing," she concluded.
