Putin signed decree on life imprisonment for treason
Russian dictator Putin has signed a law that increases the punishment for treason, which can now even lead to life imprisonment.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to RIA Novosti.
It is noted that life imprisonment can be threatened for espionage and providing information to foreigners that constitutes a state secret.
"You can also be sentenced to life imprisonment for switching to the enemy's side or providing financial, consulting or other assistance to the state in activities directed against Russia," the publication writes.
