Ukrainian defenders continue fighting in Bakhmut, positional battles continue.
Serhii Cherevaty, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported this on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET reports.
"There (in Bakhmut. - Ed.) there is a positional war and from time to time there are battles in the city buildings. This is the most difficult type of battle. Sometimes the enemy has some success after striking with large artillery forces, destroying the infrastructure, and can pass. But we, accordingly, inflicting fire damage on it, counterattack, and often win back our positions. That is, such a positional war is going on, but despite all the powerful involvement of the enemy's forces, he does not succeed in the most important thing - to completely capture the city," he noted.
According to Cherevaty, PMC "Wagner" is conducting combat operations in the city.
"All this recent media activity of Prigozhin is aimed at drawing maximum attention to himself. Because they were put on the general norm, like all the units of the aggressor. They used to have more powerful support from the previous management of their "operation". Considering the huge losses, the enemy lost 80 occupiers killed, 95 wounded in our direction only during this day. He is forced to look for ways to replenish and justify unfulfilled obligations, in particular regarding the capture of Bakhmut," he added.
