Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not being discussed now, - Borrell

The possibility of Ukraine joining the North Atlantic Alliance is currently not being discussed. This question is not studied as before.
This was stated by the head of the European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, in an interview with the Spanish TV channel laSexta, Censor.NET reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
Borrell reminded that Ukraine has long wanted to join the Alliance.
"The issue of Ukraine joining NATO is not on the table, it was not before," he said.
The head of the European diplomacy also noted that the decision on Ukraine's membership in the Alliance will be made by its members, and it does not depend on the NATO Secretary General.
Commenting on Finland's accession to NATO and Sweden's intention to join the Alliance, he stated that these countries remained neutral until the moment of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"They were neutral countries that never wanted to know anything about NATO. But when they saw that Russia invaded Ukraine, they said that the only way to guarantee our security is to be a member of the Alliance, and they asked to join quickly," Borrell explained.
