Ukroboronprom and German Rheinmetall announced creation of joint venture
The state concern "Ukroboronprom" and the German company Rheinmetall concluded an agreement on strategic partnership through the creation of a joint venture.
As Censor.NET informs, the press service of the concern reports on Facebook.
"Ukroboronprom state concern and one of the world's leaders in the defense industry - the German company Rheinmetall - concluded a strategic partnership agreement. The goal is to strengthen the defense industry of Ukraine and its national security through the creation of a joint venture," the message reads.
According to the agreement, the basis and first step for cooperation is maintenance and repair of armored vehicles transferred to Ukraine. In the future, the partners intend to jointly produce Rheinmetall products in Ukraine, as well as jointly develop promising samples of weapons and military equipment on the basis of a newly created joint venture with the participation of Ukrainian and German specialists.
It is emphasized that the start of the joint venture is planned for mid-July 2023.
As reported, the German arms company Rheinmetall plans to be able to produce tanks, anti-aircraft systems and ammunition in Ukraine in the future. As a specific example, the company cites the plan for the production of Panther-type main battle tanks in Ukraine announced several months ago.
