Portugal joins the "fighter jet coalition" and will train Ukrainian pilots and mechanics.

This is stated by Censor.NЕТ with reference to website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"Portugal has demonstrated leadership by joining the tank coalition. Given the intensification of Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages, it is critically important that Ukraine has the ability to throw Russia out of the Ukrainian sky," said Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

He also expressed gratitude to the Portuguese government for its decision to join the aviation coalition.

"The Portuguese side also reaffirmed its readiness to further support Ukraine on its path to membership in the European Union," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministers coordinated their positions in the context of preparations for the NATO Summit in Vilnius. Kuleba emphasized the importance of NATO leaders making a political decision to provide a clear algorithm for Ukraine's accession to NATO.

The Foreign Ministers also discussed bringing Russia and its leadership to justice for crimes against Ukraine, including the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression.

Kuleba paid special attention to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula as a way to establish a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and expand the circle of support for it, including through the accession of countries of the Global South.
