United States believes that Russian casualties during their attempted offensive in Bakhmut area cost them a high price.

This was stated on Wednesday during a telephone briefing by White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to Ukrinform.

"This offensive (on Bakhmut - ed.) has actually cost Russia terribly much. And, as I said, it has become a meat grinder for them in a way," the White House official said.

He noted that the estimated figures announced by Washington about Russian casualties near Bakhmut in early May were accurate. However, according to him, since then, the Russians have been losing even more troops every day.

Kirby also drew attention to the conflict between the leader of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and the Russian Ministry of Defense.
