The epidemiological situation in the danger zone due to the undermining of the Kakhovka HPP by the Russians is controlled and stable, no cases of infectious diseases have been recorded so far.

This was announced by the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko on the air of the Yedyni Novyni telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.

"Today we have no cases of infectious diseases related to the consequences of flooding. There were several cases of gastroenterocolitis, but they were not even from this territory that fell into the flooding zone. The epidemic situation today is controlled, stable, but tense," said the head of the Ministry of Health.

According to him, water monitoring is constantly being carried out in the flooded area, hospitals are being prepared for potential outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Lyashko informed that, together with the head of the NSHU, he is in Kherson region, where he is inspecting the hospital base, its readiness for receiving patients.

According to him, due to the possibility of outbreaks of intestinal infections in the region, water is tested daily both from centralized sources of water supply and from places of mass delivery of drinking water, as well as from reservoirs.

"Today I can say with confidence: the water in the centralized water supply network fully complies with sanitary standards and regulations and is safe for consumption. If it continues as it is, then there should be no potential outbreaks of intestinal infections related to the water route of transmission," emphasized Liashko.

He assured that all drinking water that is brought meets the requirements.

At the same time, a significant excess of microbiological indicators is recorded in surface water bodies, which indicates significant so-called fecal pollution. Lyashko urged people not to use surface water bodies for swimming, not to eat fish in any form - boiled, salted, fried, not to buy anything at spontaneous markets near water bodies.
